Procrastination is one of the most common problems among students nowadays. We are certainly having so much stress if assignments, projects and homeworks are being passed simultaneously right? Definitely yes, sometimes I am also experiencing that but actually most of my school works are done immediately to be passed on time to assure that I’ll have the rest to relax after those “disasters” – term used by students nowadays. We could not have experience stress if we manage these appropriately.
“Enjoy now,
suffer later”, that’s what most students are doing nowadays, they think that
the deadline for their works is too far so, they didn’t doing it yet until the
night before passing it. This kind of school lifestyle will bring you to bunch
of problems, or worst, stress.
But how to avoid procrastination? Want to know the secret? Then you have the right choice to read this article.
So basically these are my tips:
Time Management
It’s the
first and foremost thing when you’re planning to prevent procrastination. If
you want to do activities on proper time then you should list your activities
on a given the time for doing it. This will help you to use your time wisely.
As for me, I have been using this technique for years and I’m proud to say that
all my activities are being passed on time. Additionally, this engages us to
have discipline on doing our school works. This time I’ll teach you how to make
a time management table by what I’ve made.
So how to do time management table properly?
While it’s
better to have a list for all visual learners and have fond of reminding by
seeing through there are still some who can do it mentally. Those people are
already bearing proper discipline. But if you are new to avoiding it, I
recommend using Time Management Table first then if you’ve mastered your
schedule, then you can now have time management cognitively.
Motivate Yourself
For me, it’s
the hardest part on dealing with procrastination as we all know that even you’re
pushing yourself to do that activity, we are sometimes preoccupied by other
things. On the other hand, motivating yourself to do the activity and avoid
this procrastination will result to a good effect because we all know that we
are the only factor on avoiding it and maybe no one could help you except
yourself depending on the situation. Motivating yourself will lead you to
believe that you can handle these matters easily. Thus, you should do this on
the activity right after it was given.
Know the consequence
I’m a
hundred percent sure that all of you have already met the result of having this
kind of attitude towards certain task. Procrastination will always lead you
to have bunch of problems or worst,
stress. “Regrets are always at the end of certain cause”- this quote will give
you other consequence of it which are regrets. Yes, regrets can be brought if
we continue procrastinating.
Procrastination has different consequences:
Low Grades or Failing Grade
Low sense of responsibility
If you’re in
a group, we all know that responsibility is a big deal. If you practice
procrastination, then you’ll get bad impressions, judgments among your
groupmates.
Those are
some effects of this on studying. If you know other consequences, help others
by commenting below.
Read some articles
As I stated
above, the only factor to avoid this is only by yourself but there’s and
exemption. If you believe that you try avoiding always but there’s no effect,
then try to be influenced by others. Read some articles from the web or books.
With this, try to stand with the message
of it and do not try to oppose and think that it’ll not have effect on you.
Some people
are just choosing to do certain things with the recommendations or suggestions
of others. Thus, if you belong to them then there’s nothing wrong with that.
Try to read step by step process on Wikihow and some other resources to help
you lessen this behavior.
These are the brief steps on how to deal with procrastination. Hope this helps and if you have questions or suggestions, just comment below and I’ll try to answer it directly.
Wow nice article. Hope all students can read this.

DeleteI think kids nowadays are way far different from the previous generation. And yes, time management is really the key. 😊
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, Karla! Thank you!
DeleteStudents procrastinate because they believe that they can make it up the time and there is always someone they can rely on. But if they experience that in reverse, then the result is opposite.
ReplyDeleteYes Blair, you're definitely right. I agree with you! By the way, Thank you!
DeleteMindset is everything. The value of hard work and awareness of responsibilities begin at home. But yes, a failure does not need to be permanent.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing, May!
Deleteang hirap pag nasanay kana ng walang time management sa buhay kaya minsan sobrang naaka-apekto talaga when it comes to work, study or even meeting your friends laging delay.
ReplyDeleteTama ka kuya Renz, kahit ako haha
DeleteProcrastination becomes a problem for students as they have more responsibilities and power over their own time. They need to be motivated and know how to be responsible for their actions..
ReplyDeleteYou're right, Monz!
DeleteI have just talked about procrastination to my son last night. so, it's nice to see that your post isn't just for students but for moms like me, too who can impart this to our children!

DeleteProcrastination --- we are all guilty of that whether students, career people or adults and parents. Haha! Pero I agree, time management is the key so you can focus on priorities. It's just a matter of balancing your time and effort for the more important things.
ReplyDeleteAnd by the way, great to know that you've started blogging even if you are still a student. Way to go for ya. Keep writing and growing your blog lang. :) God bless.
Much appreciated, Danica! Yes, I will continue blogging to help other students!
DeleteHAHA! I am now working but I still need this tip.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Procrastination is not only for students! Haha
DeleteNice articles for the students! Having the time management table is a good start. I suggest you use a spreadsheet so that you can prioritise things accordingly. Arrange it by its deadlines so you would know what to do first :)
ReplyDeleteThis does not only apply to students but also to professionals. We all need time management to deliver things on time. Love your tips! Keep on writing!
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, yes! Procrastination happens to all individual, let's admit that! Thank you ate Karla! ❤️
DeleteGood tips here. I remember cramming and doing last-minute reviews when I was a student. :) I don't think much has changed, except that I view it differently. When I procrastinate it's a sign to me that I should be doing something else since I'm not interested in whatever it is I'm delaying to do.
